Desktop Stationery Organizer

I designed this desk organizer with multiple storage compartments to neatly organize pens, pencils, markers, sticky notes, and other everyday stationery. I also included a dedicated phone stand and a cylindrical pen holder to keep frequently used items easily accessible. I focused on creating a compact and space-efficient layout while ensuring each compartment had practical dimensions for its intended purpose. As my first CAD project, I built the entire model from scratch and refined it through several iterations, improving its functionality, appearance, and overall usability.

Design Process (Step-by-Step)

1. Identified the Problem
I wanted to create a desk organizer that could keep all essential stationery in one place while reducing desk clutter.

2. Planned the Layout
I first sketched a rough layout on paper and decided what compartments the organizer would need, including sections for pens, pencils, markers, sticky notes, a phone, and other small accessories.

3. Measured and Estimated Dimensions
I estimated the dimensions of common stationery items and used those measurements to determine the size of each compartment, ensuring they would be practical for everyday use.

4. Created the Base Model
Using CAD software, I started by modelling the rectangular base, which served as the foundation for the entire organizer.

5. Added Internal Partitions
I created the internal walls one by one to divide the organizer into multiple storage compartments. I adjusted their spacing several times until the layout looked balanced.

6. Designed the Pen Holder
I modelled the cylindrical pen holder using curved geometry and positioned it on the left side of the organizer to maximize storage space.

8.Refined the Overall Design
I adjusted wall thicknesses, aligned all components, and checked that the compartments were evenly spaced and structurally consistent.

7. Added the Phone Stand
I designed a slot in the rear section so that a mobile phone could stand upright while charging or being viewed.
